Mr. Devlet Sert, President of the Öz Sağlık-İş Health and Social Services Union and Vice-President of the HAK-İŞ Trade Union Confederation attended 114th session of the Annual International Labour Conference hosted by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Our Union delegation participated the ILO 114th Session Annual Conference consisted of Mr. Devlet Sert, President, Mr. Muhammet Esat Eyvaz, Vice-President for Financial Issues, Mr. Fadlı Erdem, General Secretary, Mr. İlyas Şeker, Chief Legal Advisor, Mr. Uğur Müftüoğlu, International Relations Coordinator and Mr. Mehmet Selim Ahi, Advocate.
The ILO’s 114th Annual International Labour Conference are being held in Geneva on three premises: the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG), the Palais des Nations and the ILO headquarters from June 1–12, 2026, bringing together government, employer, and worker representatives (trade union leaders) from all 187 ILO member states. This high-level forum addresses critical global labour issues, including decent work, social protection, and the future of work in a changing economy and industrial relations system. The event features policy debates, adoption of international labour standards, and the Director-General’s opening address, shaping global labour agendas. It also underscores the ILO’s role in promoting social justice and inclusive economic growth.
During the sessions and meetings of the ILO’s Annual International Labour Conference, current developments in the labour market, social dialogue mechanisms, and proposed solutions to common challenges facing the labour world are being discussed.
Commenting on and assessing the conference which involved workers, employers, and government representatives from 187 countries, our Union President Mr. Devlet Sert emphasized the importance of strong representation of Türkiye and HAK-İŞ at international platforms.
Mr. Sert expressed that we were pleased that our country of Türkiye, our Confederation of HAK-İŞ, and our Union of Öz Sağlık-İş are represented at this important international labour conference organised by the ILO, one of the most influential international organisations shaping the world of work by stating that “We closely followed international efforts aimed at protecting and advancing workers’ rights, and we placed great importance on ensuring that the gains achieved contributed to the labour market in our country and all around the world.”
MR. SERT ATTENDED THE RECEPTION HOSTED BY THE PERMANENT MISSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE’S UN OFFICE IN GENEVA
President Sert also attended the reception hosted by the Republic of Türkiye’s Permanent Mission Office at the United Nations, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The reception was hosted by Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan who is Minister of Labour and Social Security on behalf of the Turkish Republic. The reception involved Mr. Mahmut Arslan, President of the HAK-İŞ Confederation and Mr. Devlet Sert, President of the Öz Sağlık-İş Health and Social Services Union and Vice-President of the HAK-İŞ Trade Union Confederation along with a number of ministers, diplomats, and representatives from various countries that are in Geneva to attend 114th session of the ILO Annual International Labour Conference.
On the occasion of the reception, our Union President Sert had the opportunity to discuss national and global industrial relations issues while meeting with national and international representatives who were in Geneva for the above mentioned conference.
