President Sert paid a working visit to Azerbaijan

Mr. Devlet SertVice-President of the HAK-İŞ Trade Union Confederation and President of the Öz Sağlık-İş Health and Social Services Workers’ Union, paid a working visit to Azerbaijan and held discussions with his counterparts in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. 

 

 

As part of the working visit programme in Baku, an agreement covering bilateral cooperation and the exchange of expertise was signed with the Azerbaijan Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union (Azerbaycan Respublikası Sehhiye İşçileri Hemkarlar İttifaqı) and a high level meeting was held with the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (Azerbaycan Hemkarlar İttifakları Konfederasiyası – AHİK).

 

Mr. Fadlı Erdem, General Secretary, and Mr. Uğur Müftüoğlu, International Relations Coordinator of our Union accompanied Mr. Devlet Sert throughout the visit programme in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

A COOPERATION AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SIGNED WITH THE AZERBAIJAN HEALTHCARE WORKERS’ TRADE UNION 

 

Our Union President Mr. Devlet Sert met with Mrs. Elnara Muradova, President of the Azerbaijan Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union, together with Mr. Cavid Mammadov and Mrs. Gonca Abdullayeva, Vice-Presidents and Mr. Şöhret Qedimov who is Financial Secretary (Treasurer) of the said labour organisation. 

During the meeting, bilateral discussions focused on strengthening relations between the trade unions of the two countries, safeguarding workers’ rights and interests, exchanging trade union knowledge and experience, and increasing joint initiatives between the parties.

Following the discussions, a cooperation agreement covering bilateral collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and experience was signed between the Öz Sağlık-İş Union and the Azerbaijan Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union.

 

MR. SERT: STRENGTHENING OUR UNION TIES WITH OUR FRIEND AND BROTHER COUNTRY, AZERBAIJAN

Noting that Azerbaijan is a friendly and brotherly country to Türkiye, Mr. Sert stated that the strong historical and cultural ties between the two countries also form a strong and important basis for solidarity in the trade union sphere.

Mr. Sert underlined that the cooperation agreement signed would contribute to further strengthening relations between the two unions and enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experience in the future.

VISIT TO THE AZERBAIJAN TRADE UNION CONFEDERATION (AHİK) HEADQUARTERS

As part of the working visits in Baku, our delegation, headed by our Union President Devlet Sert, also met with Mr. Ayaz Aliyev, General Secretary of the Azerbaijan of Trade Union Confederation (AHİK).

During the meeting, it was noted that relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Türkiye have been steadily and successfully developing across all areas. The delegations assessed several vital issues,  focusing on the protection of workers’ labour and social rights, as well as the exchange knowledge and experience.

During the inter-delegation discussions, recent developments in the industrial relations system and world of work as well as  current issues facing workers, were also discussed, and views were exchanged.

VISIT TO MARTYRS’ CEMETERIES IN BAKU

Our Union President Mr. Devlet Sert, accompanied by our delegation, visited the 20 January Martyrs’ Cemetery (20 Ocak Şehitliği) and the Azerbaijani Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery together with Mrs. Elnara Muradova, President of the Azerbaijan Healthcare Workers’ Union.  

Mr. President Sert and our delegation offered prayers for our beloved martyrs and laid carnations on their graves, commemorating them with compassion and gratitude.
