Syrian Delegation Visited Our Head Office and Met Our President

Syrian trade union delegation of the General Federation of Syrian Trade Unions (GFTU) visited our head office on April 1st, 2026.

Mr. Fawaz Al-Ahmad, President of the General Federation of Syrian Trade Unions (GFTU); Mr. Mohammad Ali Rustum, Member of the Executive Board; Mr. Ahmad Sahyouni, Tartus Provincial Chairman; and Mr. Adnan Azzouz, International Relations Coordinator, paid a visit to our union’s head office and met Mr. Devlet Sert, President and Executive Board Members of Öz Sağlık-İş Health and Social Services Trade Union.

 

The delegation led by GFTU General President Fawaz Al-Ahmad, who was received by our President of Mr. Devlet Sert at our union head quarters, was accompanied by our Executive Board Members who are Mr. Ismail Öztürk and Mr. Muhammet Esat Eyvaz, as well as our General Secretary that is Mr. Fadlı Erdem.

During the visit programme, Mr. Sert briefed the Syrian General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) on our union’s national and international activities, organisational efforts, and initiatives for our members.

Mr. Devlet Sert, President of our union, emphasized that Syria and Türkiye shared an ancient past and a common history by expressing his pleasure at the prospect of working together.

Mr. Fawaz Al-Ahmad, President of the Syrian General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU), noted that they have been following the activities of our Öz Sağlık-İş Union closely. He congratulated our union for its efforts on behalf of our members and thanked our President and Executive Board members for their/our hospitality.
