THE LEADERSHIP IN THE TURKISH HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES SECTOR REMAINS UNCHANGED: THE ÖZ SAĞLIK-İŞ IS AT THE TOP OF THE HEAP WITH 217,776 MEMBERS
Our Union has, which is steadily expanding and fortifying the labour struggle throughout the country, once again demonstrated its organised power with official union member statistics published by the Turkish Labour and Social Security Ministry on July 28th, 2026.
The said ministry published the “Statistics on the Number of Workers in Sectors and the Number of Union Members for the of 2026-July era” through the Turkish Official Gazette’s issue (Resmi Gazette) on 28 July 2026. The relevant communiqué once again confirmed the leadership and trust of our union in Turkish health and social services sector with 217,776 members.

By assessing the recent union figure statistics publishbed by the the Turkish Labour and Social Security Ministry, Mr. Devlet Sert expressed, our Union President and the Vice-President of the HAK-İŞ Trade Union Confederation, that the Öz Sağlık-İş Union has rapidly keeping on on its path with the understanding of protection of the rights, interest and great effort of all healthcare and social service workers.
ÖZ SAĞLIK-İŞ KEEPS ON BEING THE GUARANTOR OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES WORKERS
By emphasizing that the Öz Sağlık-İş has been maintaining rational, lasting, and fair solutions to the problems of healthcare and social service workers, Mr. Sert underlined that strength of our union did not come from numbers but from unity and solidarity of our members, and added that our union would continue to be the guarantor of healthcare and social service workers.
MR. SERT: WE WILL SUSTAIN OUR STRUGGLE WITH THE STRENGTH FEEDING WITH OUR UNITY
Stating that the achievements of the Öz Sağlık-İş Union are the most important indicator of the trust our union has gained among health and social service workers, our union President Mr. Sert said “The point we have reached today is not just about reaching a certain number of members; it is the result of the collective strength of thousands of health and social service workers who work selflessly in the field and sweat for their cause, and of our entire organization. We will have keeping on our efforts with determination in order to raise this trust more and (to) defend the rights and interests of our members in the strongest possible way.”
